South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026

South Central Railway (SCR) has officially announced the Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification to provide training opportunities under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Through this recruitment drive, 2,801 apprentice positions will be filled across various trades such as Electrician, Fitter, Welder, COPA, AC Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic and others.

This apprenticeship program is designed to give practical industrial training in railway workshops and divisions. Candidates who have completed 10th class with ITI qualification in relevant trade are eligible to apply. The selection process is purely merit-based, and selected candidates will receive a stipend during the training period as per government norms.

Educational Qualification

Important Note:
Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for this apprenticeship scheme.

Steps in Selection

Merit list preparation using 10th marks and ITI marks

Medical examination

No written test or interview will be conducted.

If two candidates obtain the same marks:

Older candidate will be given preference.
If age is same, candidate who passed 10th earlier will be selected.

Training & Stipend

Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training in various railway workshops and divisions.

Key points:

Training will follow the syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council.
Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per government apprenticeship rules.
Apprenticeship is only a training program, and there is no guarantee of permanent railway job after completion.
